Fully assembled, Handcrafted Wood Model Aircraft with Removable Desk Stands.

The "Flying Fortress" bomber built by Boeing is one of the most famous airplanes ever made. The prototype of the B-17 first flew on July 28, 1935. Few B-17's were in service on December 7, 1941, but production quickly accelerated. The aircraft served in every WW II combat zone, but is best known for daylight strategic bombing of German industrial targets. Production ended in May 1945 and totaled 12,726.

These beautiful handmade airplane models are authentic replicas made from the finest grade of select kiln dried Philippine mahogany wood. The aircraft models are made entirely by hand: From the handcarving of the fuselage, wings and tail section, to the sanding of the aircraft's contours. Every part is assembled precisely into place. After shaping and sanding, the model passes through several stages of priming and sanding before it is hand painted to duplicate the actual colors, emblems, and insignias of the original historical aircraft. Finally, multiple coats of clear lacquer are applied to protect the artwork and provide an overall glossy finish.
