Product Description

Most shipyard models from around the 1900s were made in an interesting way. Table and shelf spaces were usually in short supply, so wall models were much preferred. Most probably the model shops of Harland & Wolff, the Belfast shipyard famous for building the Titanic, were responsible for the first half models mounted on a mirror, which then tricked the eye into seeing a full model embedded into the wall. You have to see it to believe it, since it doesn't show well on a picture...

The Tug is a model of the London Tug "Rana", (Latin for "frog"); it was built in 1950 and became a familiar sight in the London dockyards for many years.
