The wood canoes of the Canadian wilderness were used for trade, transportation, hunting and fishing. With a lightly rockered (curved) hull and narrow waterlines fore and aft, they were fast, responsive and easy to paddle. These boats were planked using Cedar strips. Today, they are used for general-purpose paddling and light tripping.
Just like the original, Midwest’s version is built with wooden ribs and strip planking. Kit includes laser cut wooden parts, pre-shaped oars and excellent instructions.
