One of the finest nautically inspired clocks ever made in this country. The Mariner is an exact reproduction of an original yacht wheel, first patented and produced by Chelsea Clock in 1911. The metal base and case are forged from solid brass. The forged brass bezel opens with the original "shield" hinge and latch design. Polished and bronzed finishes are preserved with a clear laquer coating. The clock's dial is made from deeply etched brass then hand silvered, enameled and lacquered. Hand-crafted Ship's Bell mechanism, consisting of 364 steel and gold plated parts with an 11 jewel movement. Strikes the traditional ship's bell code - one bell for each half hour on a four hour watch. The wood base and back are made of solid mahogany. Custom designed presentation gift box.
