Product Description
It was an honor to be invited for dinner at the Captain's Table. It was usually located in the center
of the luxurious First Class Dining Room of the majestic Transatlantic Liners. The melodious
sound of the bell indicated the start of dinner. Captains in general were not selected on the quality
of their social graces and often disliked the long dinners, only wanting to get back to the
upstairs wheel house. The table bell had the power to end the dinner, and it was, therefore,
never far from the Captain's hand.
Polished solid brass bell with wooden handle. Bell diameter 4 inches. Total height - 9 inches.
