Product Description
In the late 1920’s many prominent men sought luxurious commuters to travel between their homes and work in New York. ACF and Chris Craft went after this market with what they called "Commuting Cruisers". These cruisers were the ultimate in luxury and came complete with everything needed to enjoy cruising, including bedding, table linen, glassware, china and all the way down to the silverware. These were the first models with berths for Chris Craft and its crowning achievement was the model 276, a 38 foot commuter which was advertised to go at speeds of up to 30 miles per hour. The 38 footer was designed to carry up to 20 passengers and had sleeping accomodations for 4 adults, including a galley and private lavatory. The model 276 had an open forward cockpit, luxuriously furnished main cabin, bridge and rear cockpit.
