An unusual Mediterranean sailing ship of the mid 18th century. Built in 1750, and armed with 18
guns, the ship was a modification of the classic style known as "lateen" because
the three masts carried triangular sails. An ancestor of the Chebec, which is of
two Latines sails, the Misticque is historically well known for her decoration. With the
Misticque, it was possible to reach a maximum speed which at that time was almost
impossible. The trapezium form of her keel was something absolutely new and even today
this type of vessel is used to transport light commercial products.
